The 'IFAX' Enumservice

The Enumservice IFAX points from a number to an email address under which the owner of the phone number wishes to receive fax documents. Ifax uses standard MIME email attachments which in turn contain fax documents in TIFF format.

The IFAX protocol ("A Simple Mode of Facsimile Using Internet Mail") itself is specified in RFC 3965. The URI scheme used ('mailto') is defined in RFC 2368, and is broadly deployed.
